I'm glad this was cleared up for Jaydee and maybe for others - - not necessary at all to allow femalaes to have at least one heat - - and spaying and neutering on very young kitties is a lot easier on them! I support spay and neuter programs everywhere. Luv, M
NO NOT AT ALL. ONLY IF FEMALES ARE NOT SPAYED ARE THEY AT RISK OF PHAMTOM PREGNANCY. SO IF YOUR CAT IS NOT SPAYED AND DOES NOT MATE SHE IS AT HIGH RISK OF PHANTOM PREGANCY.THIS CAN LEAD TO CANCER OF THE MAMORY GLANDS AS THE CAT PRODUCES MILK FOR KITTENS THAT SHE IS NOT GOING TO HAVE.
HOPE THIS HELPS. XXX PAWDI
Hi Jaydee. I am very glad that you are going to spay Torry after she has her kittens. I hope everything goes smoothly! I bet they will be gorgeous kittens. You take good care of your cats...just look at them, they're beautiful!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE RESPONSE. THERE IS NO NEED FOR A CAT TO HAVE A FIRST HEAT THAT IS JUST AN OLD WIVES TALE.BY SPAYING FEMALE CATS YOU TAKE AWAY THE RISK OF CANCER AS WELL. BUT YOUR BABIES ARE IN VERY GOOD HANDS THERE. I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING THE KITTENS WHEN THEY ARRIVE.
YOUR CATS ARE ALL SO BEAUTIFUL. XXXX PAWDI
Well, we heard that you had to let them have their first heat and then you could get them spayed, She had her first heat a couple of months ago and she got out for the night threw an open window that someone left open. So the day we go to the vets is the day we find out she's pregnant, my mom didn't want to get rid of the kittens and we have loads of homes that want kittens, so you know, here she is, pregnant, she will be spayed though after this litter.
I HAVE JUST SEEN THAT TORRY IS A KITTEN FROM LAST YEAR..... MAY I ASK WHY YOU DONT NEUTER YOUR CATS.I LOVE KITTENS BUT I ALSO KNOW THAT IT IS KINDER TO SPAY AND NEUTER PETS AS PETS ARE AT ALL SORTS OF RISK WHEN THEY ENCOUNTER TOM CATS.
I think she will be ok, she is older than Stevie from when Stevie had her kittens and she had to nurse nine with the help of Luis, so I think she will be fine, thanks for the love:)
Ok for everyone who didn't notice or read yet, Torry is having kittens nd they should be arriving soon, we have homes ready for them all and Stevie is on hand to help :) And Good Morning Picato
Torry is a beautiful tortie kitty who filled our heart with joy. She was born in 2008 and though she was very timid, she was also very affectionate. Torry went missing in September 2010 when we moved house. The hope to see her again remains with us.
