Dear Greta, I didn't have the internet for a while and didn't get on Picato. I just want you to know that I am thinking about you and praying for sweet Charlene. I'm glad she's eating. My mother cries every day because she can't see or hear or do anything. Charlene is showing us how to live when bad things happen. I'm so glad that she has you to care for her. You and Charlene are an inspiration. Love you dear Greta.
You are both so welcome. Charlene has been a little better now that she has started the blood pressure tablets. We will just have to wait and see what happens, I suppose as to whether she will regain any sight. She went out in the garden today by herself and walked up the steps to her favourite spot so things are looking promising. Lots of love to you both, Greta .....xxxxx
Thank you for letting us know about how charlene is! I have been thinking about her and you!!!
This is a hard time, just take it one day at a time!
hugs and purrrs from Mary and Milo!
Thank you for the update on dear Charlene, Greta. Sounds like you are on a good course of action. Please give Charlene hugs and kisses from me and Daisy. Take care dear friend and keep in touch. Prayers to you and entire Mackemcat fam.
Hi agin, didn't want to run out of space to write....Charlene has to go back in two weeks and is on a course of tablets to reduce her blood pressure and regulate her kidney function. It was horrible leaving her as I knew she would be worried, not being able to see. She was so glad I was there to pick her up and was purring loudly and rubbing my hand with her mouth.....
Hi Marilyn & Mary, I took her this morning and the vets did tests for liver and kidney function, blood pressure and diabetes tests. Kate, the vet thinks it's her blood pressure that has caused the problem as it's very, very high high. She has very slight kidney impairment, really borderline normal,so nothing to worry about and everything else is fine......
She is a lot more comfortable today, Sunday and has been sitting on my knee, purring away. I desperately need to know what the vet is going to say tomorrow. I am baffled as to why this has happened to her...
Hi Marilyn, Charlene turned up in the front garden in a serious condition, full of ticks, fleas and worms. She had been hurt on her ear and was having fits and behaved as if she was very frightened. That was about 13 years ago so I reckon she is 16 or 17. She is such a sweetie. I adore her.....xxx
Thank you all so much. I look at her, sleeping so pecefully and wonder how she feels. She is so brave, an inspiration. She is trying to remember where everything is, so I make sure her bed, food and water are all in the same place. The good thing is that she still enjoys her food and has been drinking. I just wish I could put the clock back........
Oh Greta ... I'm so very sorry to hear the latest news on your baby Charlene ... tears and hugs and please, please give her a kiss from me and Daisy ... keep in touch dear friend ...
Thank you everyone for your lovely messages. I had some very sad news yesterday that my sweet little Charlene could be totally blind and that her retinas seem to have detached. I couldn't come to Picato yesterday for crying. I have to take her back on Monday. I am just cuddling and holding her all the time and rubbing her little chin to comfort her. It's heartbreaking. I love her so much.....
Loveable ginger and white cat who loves eating more than anything else in the world. Was a rescued feral cat with lots of health problems from which she has now recovered. Always on a diet.
