So so sorry to read about Moritz' issues Tina ... it is sad for them when they have to go through such treatments etc ... my heart is with you and with dear Moritz.
Yes Mark, it was pancreatitis plus a bad cold at the same time. The last test results came today, Moritz's pancreas is still working well. I was afraid that this was the reason he has lost so much weight. Thyroid okay, too. Then there is still the dark spot in his pancreas, hopefully just a fluid-filled cyst but maybe something serious, this can only be determined by surgery. The Vet and I agree that Moritz wont undergo a surgery anymore because of his renal problems, his age and the difficulty of pancreatic surgery. Imortant is that Moritz is eating and drinking again and that he is not in pain but if he continues to lose weigth so fast.....
And although Moritz is doing better he doesn't like me so much right now. We drove to the vet every day, sometimes twice a day and Moritz NEVER had go to the vet so often in such a short time and I have to give him pills and pastes and injections and for a few days I had to feed him with the food syringe. He hates every treatment, I never had a cat before that didn't participate at all.
And yes, I am sure my hair became greyer the last two weeks in which.. that doesn't matter because I found the first white strand of hair before I was 30.
Tina, so glad Moritz is bouncing back. But the weight loss is obvious in the picture. There's nothing more terrifying to those of us charged with their care, except a sudden lump or something along those lines. We love Moritz, but I'm more worried about how grey(er) your hair got through all of this. What did the vet say it was, was it pancreatitis?
Moritz, born April 1999, was a shy but very smart European shorthair. He lived in Bavaria, Germany together with Mietzi, Donna, Morris, Minka, Willi and Paulinchen. Moritz went over the rainbow bridge October 2017. I miss him so much.
