I appreciate everyone caring that my boys are healthy, I have a 17 yr old that eats everything in sight, a 4 year old that is deaf, and if he does not witness me actually putting even a pinch of new dry in the bowl, he MOOOOWWWWs as loud as a person can possibly stand, Ollie screams, it freaks me out! I actually have to fool him, I pretend I put my hand in the bucket of food and I only stir up what is left in the bottom of the bowl. Toni only eats dry! Spencer eats anything, even popcorn. Ollie would eat wet, and yogurt. But Spencer is dying and his protein needs to be watched so I have to stick with the current regimen until my Son passes away :(. 1 cup in the morning and I little more around 11pm, otherwise they keep me up. I cannot have an empty bowl at night! Spencer is diabetic so I need to have food out, and he eats the most. That's why I showed Toni's paws, he really is as big as overweight, he is long and tall and giant. My puffer boy. Love, Dale and the boys
That's a huge amount of food! My three were gaining weight until I knocked it down to 3/4 cup of Wellness Core Dry, and then 2 5 oz. cans of Fancy Feast wet, 12 hours later, for all three!
If you leave it filled out throughout the day then yes :)
try having 3 meals (small amount) at seperate timings a day, other then those times keep the food bowl empty
Also if they get too hungry, feed them only a small amount of some sort of healthy treat,I always give Maya dental treats since she really needs them and they don't give her all the extra fat that she would have gotten from a regular treat.
Cats also need nutrience from wet food,I always give my cat a small teaspoon of it and then leave the rest back in the can.Other then that depend on dry food, and play with your cat once or twice a day to get him to move around a little.
Ollie is crazy and fun and weird. I love him and he loves me, I know this because every morning I hear a LION roaring outside my bedroom door, because he misses me.
