He's fine and himself as of 11/2, but is on a big regimen of meds to try to get his intestines settled down, and he's restricted to one food. He's voracious now and I'm giving him multiple cans of food and he's eating them in seconds. Unfortunately, while I was at work, he ate a good portion of a kitchen sponge.

have you tried giving him some acidophilus? It's the good stuff in yogurt to help put good bacteria back in his stomach

He had a relapse of the last episode after I took him off the antibiotics and had a vet visit again today. He had an ultrasound, and now it looks like it wasn't hepatitis, but probably IBD due to food allergies or something related to diet. Apparently the inflammation in the intestines partially blocked the bile duct from the liver and caused liver inflammation, and the antibiotics knocked the IBD back temporarily until he was taken off them. He may also have gall stones and is being medicated for that.
