Yeah, there's 2 sets of smoke and CO detectors on each level. 1 wired and local, the other are monitored on my security system so I know the cats are safe when they're alone in the house. That tiny little stove, BTW, can easily heat my entire 920 sf house to 63F when it's 5F outside without breaking a sweat. Awesome Viking technology, and the Viking Kitten approves! The Ford F Series of wood heating! Jotul 620 CB FTW!!

Yes that is not a surprise to me, too. :) Old farm houses here have these big tiled stoves with a bench around, cats love to sit and sleep there. I would love to have a modern version of that but the living room should be bigger....

Someone told me this would happen when I put the wood stove in the basement.
