Thank you so much for your kind thoughts. Lucinda is much better at the moment (thank goodness!!!) and has started to eat normal food and wants to eat without having to be coaxed to have her food. Her pills are another thing though!!. She is still very thin. At last weigh in, she was 3.1 kg. This is with the weight she has put on since being home. When she was at the vets she was much less. I feed her on everything I can try. She is spoiled rotten and enjoys the fuss. At first it was only fish she would have and now she is being good and trying other cat foods. Some of it she likes, some she won't look at. If she doesn't have it, I know Suzanne will.....xx
I'm so sorry to learn of Miss Lucinda's illness. I'm sure you know this, but feed her, feed her, feed her and hopefully she'll start to eat on her own. Has your vet recommended doing sub q at home? Once you get into a routine, it's not that difficult and so much less stressful for her than having to go to the clinic every other day or so. Healing thoughts your way!
Hi everyone.....good news. Lucinda is a little better and is eating today....She hates taking her medication and I have to crush the pill and put it in milk and give it to her with a syringe in her mouth. There is still a long way to go to get her stabilised as she is still extremely ill but at least she looks better. I hope she can get some weight on as she is very thin and feels like a kitten when you pick her up. She asked to be out in the garden and ate grass. I hope that is a good sign but I'm still so worried........
Hope your dear Lucie is doing better very soon. It's so hard to see them sick. All of my positive thoughts and prayers are with you MackemCat and sweet Lucinda
Hi everyone, Lucinda is home but is still seriously ill. Vet says she is to come back in on Saturday but she won't eat much at all today so I think she may have to go in sooner. She is very weak.......I'm so worried.....I wish the vet had kept her in.........
Thank you all so much for all your wonderful support and love for Lucinda. I saw her yesterday at the vets and she is on a drip still but ate a little food while I was there. The vet nurses are so kind and have made her comfortable and have been giving here lots of cuddles. They are running more tests on her kidney function today so I am hoping for some good news. Poor little cat is so frail and looks tiny in her cage in the hospital....It's so sad when only last week she was running around and playing in the garden. I will keep you all updated........x
Just read about Lucinda and I'm sending you all my prayers for her recovery. She is and will always be my special girl and I'm so worried about her. Give her a cuddle from me, will you?
My thoughts are with you and Miss Lucinda for lots more feel-good times with her. We all know how it feels to want more time with our kitties...and we are all here for moral support!
I so sorry to hear about little Lucie. It's the other side of the coin we have to endure when they're sick, that comes with all the happy times. I hope she pulls through and feels better soon.
My dear MackemCat ... Very sorry to read about Lucinda's illness. What a brave little girl you have there my friend. Very, very difficult when our beloveds get on in years ... I'm sending prayers indeed for her comfort and return home very soon to you and her furry pals ... Hugs dear friend. Luv u Licinda oh beautiful girl.
Hello to all my Picato friends. Sorry I have not been around for a while to share my news as I usually do but life is so busy here and sometimes the weeks and months just fly by. Lucinda took very ill yesterday and is now in the vet's hospital. She has had kidney failure for a while but has been very well. She is now on a drip as she was very dehydrated today and wouldn't eat or drink. The vet rang to say she has just eaten a small amount of tuna so I am pleased about that but am still very, very worried. She had her seventeenth birthday in March. The renal failure is age related not like Bruno's but I am so concerned for her. Lucinda is a real star, a proper little lady and is adored by everyone. Please include my beautiful girl in your prayers.....much love from me and Lucinda......xxxx
