Always an issue with male kitties - I always mention to friends to constantly feel their lower belly to make sure their bladder is not the size of a "softball" ... always a good way to tell if they are having urinary issues which can be catastrophic if not treated ... my first cat Quigley had the issue and they had to two surgeries on him ... and that was 30 years ago ... vet medicine and food have come a long way since then ... wishing dear Baby and very speedy recovery ... sounds like you acted very swiftly Hilda ... luv u Baby
The vet just called and Baby has a very bad urinary tract infection with a lot of cristals in it:( but he will be on antibiotics and valium to relax the bladder and intestines to be able to pass urine and feces easier. He will also have to be on special food maybe for the rest of his life. As long as he gets better that is all that matters and I will do whatever it takes to make that happen. :) He is my special boy. Thank you all for your prayers and good wishes.
HI everyone, Baby is at the vet today, I found blood in his pee which isn't easy when there are 6 cats in the house. He is eating and drinking though so hopefully it's nothing to serious. Speaking of Baby the vet just called to say that they were able to collect some pee to send off to the lab and they are pretty sure it is a bladder infection. Will only know tomorrow, probably.
