Rusty is now neutered, but the nick in the ear is from old times, when he was fighting with other strays. At one point of time he became friends with our Sebastian, Piccolina and Charlie, then he started defending our garden from other males, until he finally decided to adopt us. He is still a "ladies boy", taking good care of all the females in the neighborhood.
