Thank you everyone. Lucinda is so much better now. She has a wet nose and is full of voice, speaking all the time in that posh voice of hers. She alsways answers when you talk to her. Binks's owners moved but according to to other neighbours who were worried about the cat, not that far. Not sure where but they haven't come back to look out for him. He was always out in all weathers, hail, sleet, snow, everything and mostly overnight. We could hear him crying pitifuly outside so used to look for him at bedtime to see if he could come in.. I used to get up in the night if I heard him. He was always soaked to the skin so I made him a bed in the porch where it was warm, sheltered and cosy. He was very timid at first but is getting more confident. He was unneutered and therefore got into fights. He has been neutered now and is a lot more calm. It's such a shame he had to go through all that uncertainty and obvious physical discomfort in all that cold and wet......

Just three weeks earler, Lewis had a very bad eye infection and before that the neighbours cat, Binks (who never ever goes anywhere near Lewis or the others, due to the fact that he doesn't like them at all and I wouldn't trust him with them) also had an eye infection. I took him to vet and he got eye drops which cleared it up. I always wash my hands after touching the other cat and before touching my own cats. At the same time that Lewis was ill, Binks, got covered with oil and i couldn't get it off. It was all over his back and tail. So he went with Lewis to vets and had to be cleaned up and they had to cut some of his fur off. The neighbours have moved and the cat has stayed. I had his first injections done last week. He is a lovely cat, really sweet.........but he is not keen on other cats at all which is a pity. He sleeps in the porch at home and has his own bed, litter tray and feeding bowls.

Thank you so much everyone. It was such a terrible time and I do wonder if Lucinda saw how ill Charlene was and that it affected her. She just lost so much weight in a very short space of time and had sickness and wouldn't get out of bed. If I had lost her, I don't know how I would have coped...........

Oh my word ... you have been through a very bad patch my friend ... so glad that dear Lucinda is on the mend ... do you think she was just so devastated by the loss of Charlene too? I really think kitties miss their pals when they are gone ... hugs and please keep us posted! xoxox

I'm so glad she is feeling better. I hope she gets a clean bill of health on her next vet visit.

Lucinda gave everyone a scare (including the vet) just after Charlene died. She became very ill and the vet suspected FIV or kidney failure. It all happenend in the space of two days. She has had all her vaccinations but apparently cats can still catch FIV even after vaccination. It was all news to me and I was worried for the other cats. She was very poorly and dehydrated. Thankfully, after a course of antibiotics, she is much, much better and blood tests have shown that her blood and kedneys are clear. It was the best news ever for me. After losing Charlene, I was devastated at the thought that she may not survive either but now she is eating, drinking normally and her little nose is wet and shiny. She has to go back to the vets to be checked over on Friday so i hope the news is good.........She sends her love to all her picato friends, especially Elizabeth.......Miaow, miaow..........
