I'm still hoping their mother survived the winter and is still around somewhere. There's lots of cat tracks in the snow, so maybe I'll get her this year. I decided a long time ago that I'd take care of 7 cats total -- the size of the original litter and Daisy.
Maybe if Storm and Mikesch had had a sister......could be easier to bring together your boys and a young female. Some years with foster cats have shown me that often it is easier with Boys than with girls. It happened more and more that especially older cats didnt like any cat company and we had to find a home where they were the only cat.
Absolutely fine that you asked. She creeps into my thoughts a couple times each year anyways. I was going to get her healthy and re-home her because she didn't do well in the house with the other cats, like Chloe, so I was never really attached to her, and was actually looking forward to re-homing her. The sad part was that after watching Daisy slowly go away over a yer from lymphoma, deciding to adopt a senior female cat from a shelter was like the only "good" thing to come out of that, and then Beba ended up hating us all, and then she had to be PTS. And then a few years later, Chloe doesn't do too well here either, but at least that was a happy ending. It's as if Daisy's spirit forbids another female cat to be here, but male kittens are fine.....
I am sure you did the right thing although I know it does not make it easier. But our cats cant make this decision so we have to make it for them. Hope ist was okay that I have asked about Beba.
It was rough. Daisy had just passed away in January, so it was really too soon anyways. Beba was like Chloe, except she hated everyone, including humans. I think she would've done better as an only cat too. But, I posted on here that she was starting to lose weight and looking good, but when the weight kept coming off I took her to the vet and the blocked intestine was discovered. I was going to have it fixed, but when they opened her up they found that just about her whole intestine was solid with waste. They gave her a 50% chance to recover, and then she'd have been on medications for the rest of her life that weren't guaranteed either. It was just a really sad situation from the start.
Beba went in for surgery for a blocked intestine. It ended up being such a bad block and recovery prognosis was so poor I had her PTS on the operating table when the vet discovered the situation. It was very sad.
Yes all your boys look great. I hope you all will have many more good years together. Are Paulinchen and Moritz invited to their birthday party ? ;) Btw some days ago I looked at some of your older pics....what happend to Beba?
