My daughter Anne is writing this in our names: all the family, Constance, Pacha, Poupie and Pirate were waiting for news from dear Lewis. We are really happy to learn that he fells much better. We support you in thoughts and prayers. Hugs for Lewis and we don't forget the other cats.
Great news Greta - - you have been through it lately with Bruno and Lewis K. .... happy, happy, happy - - the next update from you, I hope, is that LK is home where he belongs!!! XOXOX
Hi everyone. I have just been to the vets and Lewis is so much better today and was eating well, purring and has miaowed a few times like he always does. The vet is very pleased with his progress so far. I feel so relieved and couldn't wait to let you all know. You have all been so kind to us....lots of love, Greta
I know how you feel about seeing them in the hospital. I didn't want her to stay overnight and when she saw me, and I held her, she was kneading my shoulder...in my mind, she was very very happy. Lewis is such a sweetheart.
My Mia just went through a similar thing where she was not eating and being very lethargic...took her to the vet for enemas, x-rays and rehydration. They didn't help her and suggested I take her home..where she began eating. I gave her pumpkin because she couldn't defecate. After a day, she then did and now I check her litter box and she doesn't go every day, but she has more energy. I'm sorry this is so long, but some of our babies are so frightened, that they will not eat in the hospital.
It was so lovely to see Lewis tonight. It's hard to put it into words how much I have missed him. The house is just too quiet. I just wanted to scoop him up and take him home but I knew I couldn't. Bruno is missing him and has been especially loving and "kissy" tonight. What a good boy he is (sometimes).....
When the nurse carried Lewis out of the hospital area, it was to the same room where I last saw Thomas and it brought back such sad memories. I hope that Lewis can continue to fight this awful illness. I am still worried, as Thomas rallied round initially and then just deteriorated so fast he could not be saved. I hope Lewis will be OK and I'm so grateful for all your good wishes and prayers which give me hope and comfort.....xxxxxx
I visited Lewis tonight at the vets and they had put him on a drip today because he hadn't eaten or drank. His temperature was normal 101.5 degrees F and he feels nice and cool but his white blood cell count is higher than it should be. He was overjoyed and was purring and rolling on his back. They still don't know what is wrong but I think he is a bit better than yesterday.
