Sounds good to me. I never had an orange tom cat but have heard so often that they should be very special, your "Amber" sure is ! Looking forward to his pics and stories.

He has absolutely no fear of the older cats, he just runs around playing with toys and just suddenly makes a beeline for one of them and tackles them! Both Mikesch and Storm are starting to play with him now. No contact, but they chase him across the house, and a few seconds later, he's chasing them the other direction. He will be accepted fine when he's a little bigger and they can wrestle with him, I'm sure. The older cats are just kind of putting up with it all, but are all past the hissing phase. At least Floppy is swatting him off his chair when the kitten tries to climb up onto it to get at Floppy.

You are spoilt for choice :-) I must admit my favourite names were Tizian and Toulouse but today I would name an orange Male Amberjack ! I've read the name and loved it at once but Amiri sounds good, too. You will make the best choice. How are things going with the little fellow and the older boys ?
tele_mark 12.09.2015 20:37 | Flag
All great names! Right now, Amberjack is a good possibility. And, I just found one online -- Amiri, which is apparently Swahili for Prince.
doerscheln 12.09.2015 18:36 | Flag
Geronimo, Garfield, Findus, Toulouse (Aristocats, the red cat )
doerscheln 12.09.2015 18:02 | Flag
Yes, Rusty is nice, too of course but then what about Rosso, Rossini or Tizian ?
iluvcats 12.09.2015 17:16 | Flag
Oooh - I like "Rusty"!
tele_mark 12.09.2015 13:36 | Flag
I had to Google Amberjack as well, lol!
doerscheln 12.09.2015 08:22 | Flag
Great suggestion, I like Amberjack very much although it is a fish I just found out. :) From now on it is on my name list for orange males, too. The next time I am looking for an english name I have to ask a mother-tongue speaker , Amberjack wasn't in my english vocabulary at all.
tele_mark 12.09.2015 06:52 | Flag
Another good one.
suelin57 12.09.2015 05:38 | Flag
Maybe Rusty, lol.
tele_mark 12.09.2015 05:38 | Flag
Amberjack is definitely interesting!
eelias 11.09.2015 21:40 | Flag
I've made that mistake myself and had to rename a cat or two! How about Amberjack?
tele_mark 11.09.2015 05:53 | Flag
No, I was just kidding, he's full of the devil right now, but nothing bad. His name will come in time.
pmgr111 11.09.2015 04:09 | Flag
I agree, don't name him Devil. I assume he is making some trouble. And no wonder "she's" so bold being really a he. Hopefully you will come up with a nicer name that Devil.
iluvcats 10.09.2015 19:41 | Flag
No, no, no not Devil :) I've changed a couple of my cats names - to add RIP etc
tele_mark 10.09.2015 17:17 | Flag
Yup! Sure enough, that will work. Now I just have to come up with a name. Right now, "Devil" would suit him just fine.
doerscheln 10.09.2015 16:53 | Flag
LOL that's so easy Marilyn !!! The problem was that I have never tried that, usually you don't change a cat name anymore ..... XO
iluvcats 10.09.2015 16:37 | Flag
Like I said my friends you CAN edit the name of your "cats" - I just edited the name of one of mine - My Friends' Cats - I added the word Knoxville to it. Go to "my cats" - pick out the "cat" you want to edit and "edit the profile" and that's where you can change the name -- voila. xoxoxoxxo Luv to all
tele_mark 10.09.2015 15:41 | Flag
LOL
trhays57 10.09.2015 13:44 | Flag
That's OK Mark - my Baby Annie is still Annie and still a boy . . .
doerscheln 10.09.2015 12:33 | Flag
Right, that is the way it should work and after moving the Amber pics to a new Profile when you know the new name then delete the cat Amber. Still smiling that none noticed that SHE is a HE but I know sometimes it is a bit difficult to see the difference when they are so little. :) Guess the vet was satisfied with the cute "Pumuckl" ( a german Kobold with orange hair) ?
pmgr111 09.09.2015 23:51 | Flag
I believe you could create a new profile and move the pictures to that profile. That would change the name we all see just under the picture but not in the comments you've made.
pmgr111 09.09.2015 23:42 | Flag
PS Amber does sound like a girls name to me.
pmgr111 09.09.2015 23:40 | Flag
So now I know how you did get that name changed. I wondered how you did that. I wouldn't email Antonio until you have selected a new name.
tele_mark 09.09.2015 21:54 | Flag
I think you can only delete the whole folder containing a cat's pictures. You can't change the name on the folder.
tele_mark 09.09.2015 21:47 | Flag
Well, at any rate, he's a near perfect cat. The vet had trouble hearing his heart today because he was purring so loud. And he didn't run when company came over for Labor Day -- he was the life of the party!
scrappy 09.09.2015 21:28 | Flag
I kind of figured it was a boy but I didn't want to say so 'cause after all, Mark, you, um, are the one that can actually look and see "under there"! Most orange tabbies are males anyway. Don't know why you can't keep the name Amber anyway...
iluvcats 09.09.2015 21:13 | Flag
I think you can update it Mark - go to "my cats" and check out or "my tags" one of those should allow you to edit the name
tele_mark 09.09.2015 20:57 | Flag
Now I have to email Antonio and see if he can remove the name from "Amber's" pictures for now. I think the spirit of Daisy is determined that no other girl cat will ever live here.
pmgr111 09.09.2015 19:11 | Flag
Ooooh no, not really but just a gasp. Welcome little fella to your new permanent home and soon we will know your third new name.
suelin57 09.09.2015 19:09 | Flag
Ah, not rare after all. But I guess you just have an all boys house going there, so that's okay! He's still a cutie.
pmgr111 09.09.2015 19:08 | Flag
Huunngh, oh no another male, not really oh no, just a gasp. Welcome little fella to your new permanent home and soon well find out your third name, lol.
iluvcats 09.09.2015 19:00 | Flag
Oh Mark - some "cat expert" you are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a hoot!!!! No wonder he's been ignoring you and the rest of the pack!!! :)
doerscheln 09.09.2015 16:06 | Flag
LOL
tele_mark 09.09.2015 15:59 | Flag
Well, this is embarrassing! I just brought Princess Amber for the first vet visit. HE is going to need a new name, LOL!
