Thank you for all your comments! we don't know yet re ear mites; this ear was injured last year so it looks like this is due to a scar. The thing is, he comes and sits inside if door is left open but keeps his distance and runs immediately if we approach. We trapped him x2 and he goes into panic, so we just need to wait and hope he will warm up to people..

I'm so glad you took him in! He's a fortunate kitty and with patience, I'm sure he will feel right at home in no time!!

It takes time he will adjust.His one ear looks like it is hanging a little low. Does he have ear mites? My cat did and they still come back . I still have to clean his ears, the vet couldn't even get rid of them.
