Yes that sounds like there is someone feeding the cats . Maybe the Mom knows this place, too, had a dry place to sleep and some food.

I trapped the black cat that I trapped last year, and then released. I let him go, because he looked so well-fed and fat that he had to have been holed up somewhere to survive this winter. I think he's a barn cat, and most likely Storm and Mikesch were too.

Yes I hope that, too and that you can catch the Mom. Maybe it is Storm's and Mikesch's family anyway no matter which cat you will trap.

I put the trap out for the first time last night, but nothing this morning. I'm still hoping their mom made it through the winter.

Thats great :) Mikesch is a fantastic little guy ! No matter how long it takes to tame a cat, it is always worth it. Are there still tracks of feral cats near your house ?

Wonderful news that he's becoming a tame cat. As we all know he is very lucky to have you in his life.

Oh no! The second he's spooked, he runs right back into the house. And, since I let him outside, that really tamed him just about all the way. I can walk right up to him now and he enjoys being pet. I can even pick him up for a few seconds. He squirms but doesn't panic.

Any problems to get Mikesch back into the house again ?

Mikesch is getting comfortable outside again.
